Binghamton University is located in the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. The campus encompasses almost 1000 acres, including a nearly 200 acre nature preserve and several natural areas. Binghamton University is committed to a sustainable future and is a fantastic place for touring and learning about the natural environment of the Southern Tier in New York State.  Take one of our field trips (or two) and let us know what you think!

Would you like to help us collect data on what you see?

This April come join us for the inaugural

Learn more about what lives around us here in the Southern Tier and help us collect data on species and environmental conditions on campus and associated properties! This event will be free and open to the public, including members of the local community as well as students, faculty, staff, alumni, family, & friends.

We will use iNaturalist to document observations.

This event will be hosted by the BU Center for Integrated Watershed Studies (CIWS).
