Perhaps the best known natural area on campus is the Binghamton University Nature Preserve which covers 190 acres of land and is home to an array of diverse species. It also serves as a natural laboratory for ecological and environmental research on campus and contains a number of well marked hiking trails.

Check out the preserve website (link above) to read about its interesting history and current use. Come out to campus and explore one or all of the 14 marked trails!
